Tokyo marks 15th anniversary of subway sarin attack

Tokyo marked the 15th anniversary Saturday of the sarin nerve gas attack on its subway system by AUM Shinrikyo cult members that left 13 dead and sickened some 6,300. The cult’s founder Shoko Asahara, 55, and nine other cult members are currently awaiting execution on death row, while three others remain at large.

Cult survivor relives history of servitude in the Brisbane Christian Fellowship

The Brisbane Christian Fellowship is a cult both theologically and sociologically. Theologically it is a cult of Christianity as its teachings violate those of the Bible. The church’s unreasonable demands and destructive, controlling behavior also mark sociologically as a cult. Some of the cult’s survivors are now exposing the church to daylight.

Australian Senate again rejects inquiry into Scientology cult

South Australian independent senator Nick Xenophon will keep pressing for an inquiry into the Church of Scientology , despite the major political parties joining to defeat his second attempt to refer allegations of abuse to a Senate committee. The cult refers to the allegations as “”rumour and outright lies.”

Jury finds FLDS member Merril Leroy Jessop guilty

The Texas Attorney General’s Office says a member of the polygamous Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been convicted of sexual assault of an alleged underage bride. Merril Leroy Jessop faces up to life in prison.

Rebecca Musser, a former member of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints , testified about the sect’s views on marriage in the trial of Merril Leroy Jessop. Jessop, a member of the polygamous sect, is charged with sexual assault of a child in connection with allegations he illegally married an underage girl.

Non-Muslim inmates at the high-security Long Lartin jail have been forced by the gangs to stop playing “Western” music and take down pictures of women from their cells, according to one former prison officer there. The officer, speaking to Radio Five Live’s Donal Macintyre show, told how younger prisoners were targeted for forced conversion to Islam by the gangs.

Ugandans will on Wednesday, March 17 mark ten years since a religious cult in Western Uganda caused death of over 1000 followers. The cult, known as Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandment of God , is said to have locked the believers in a huge church hall before using petrol to set it on fire
